F5 Networks får SAP certifiering för applikationssäkerhet och WAN optimeringsslösningar

Certifieringen säkrar att F5 WANJet och BIG-IP fungerar ihop med SAP NetWeaver och ökar nätverksprestanda och säkerhet för SAP applikationer

SEATTLE, December 12, 2007 - F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that the F5® BIG-IP® Local Traffic Manager™ (LTM) version 9 with Application Security Manager™(ASM) and WANJet® version 5 products have achieved SAP® Certified Integration for third-party networking appliances that interoperate with SAP solutions using the SAP NetWeaver® platform and an enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA).

As a complement to F5's Application Ready Network™ for use with SAP solutions and previous certifications of BIG-IP LTM version 9 with WebAccelerator™ and FirePass® Controller version 6, F5 provides a comprehensive suite of application delivery products certified for integration with SAP applications that delivers security (BIG-IP ASM, FirePass), optimization (BIG-IP WebAccelerator and WANJet) and availability (BIG-IP LTM). With F5, customers using SAP solutions can deploy an end-to-end Application Delivery Network to address application performance at every point in the network to assure optimum user experience.

As confirmed in the testing, deployment advantages of BIG-IP ASM used with SAP solutions in enterprise SOA environments include:

  • Reduced application server resource consumption through offloading SAP security functions
  • Increased network security capabilities with features including schema validation, whitelist/blacklist URIs, application session cookie enforcement, and DoS prevention

Deployment advantages of WANJet with SAP solutions in enterprise SOA environments include:

  • Complementary functionality to BIG-IP LTM with WebAccelerator, further enhancing user experience with decreased login times, faster document downloads, and LAN-like performance over the WAN
  • Compatibility with other devices on the F5 TMOS™ platform-a modular application delivery architecture-enabling users to centrally deploy and manage all application delivery and WAN optimization devices in an enterprise SOA environment from a single console using the F5 Enterprise Manager™ appliance

Certification was overseen by the SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) and conducted at the SAP Co-Innovation Lab in Palo Alto, Calif. The SAP ICC has certified that F5's BIG-IP LTM with ASM and WANJet meet certain certification criteria in the areas of security, performance, reliability, and availability. Both BIG-IP LTM with ASM and WANJet were certified for integration with the SAP ERP application 6.0 release based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0. SAP Certified Integration status of BIG-IP LTM with ASM was granted based on achievement in the category of Network Security for enterprise SOA-based solutions. SAP Certified Integration status of WANJet was granted based on achievement in the category of Network Performance Optimization for enterprise SOA-based solutions.

These certifications mark the latest of several ongoing collaborations between SAP and F5 continuing to deepen the relationship between the two companies, including F5's Application Ready Network for use with SAP solutions.
